If the Q5 was purchased used and nobody knows whether it was completed, that’s useful information too.
And if you’re not sure, you don’t need to track down every previous owner before bringing the vehicle in.

Does Every S tronic Service Include the Same Parts?
No, and Audi’s own maintenance information demonstrates why we check the exact vehicle.
In Audi maintenance schedules, some models are listed for:
S tronic fluid replacement
while other Audi applications specifically call for:
fluid and filter replacement.
That means we shouldn’t take an S tronic service procedure from another Audi model and automatically apply it to a Q5.
Audi’s 2018 schedule, for example, lists the Q5 2.0T under the 40,000-mile fluid-change category while other vehicles in the same schedule are specifically listed for fluid-and-filter service.

Is Audi S tronic the Same Thing as Volkswagen DSG?
You’ll often see S tronic and Volkswagen DSG discussed together because both are names used for dual-clutch transmission technology.

The Audi model, transmission and factory maintenance information still matter.

a transmission warning message,
or a fluid leak,

Is S tronic Fluid the Same as Quattro Fluid?
No.
S tronic transmission service is not shorthand for replacing every fluid in the Q5’s all-wheel-drive system.
A Q5 can have multiple drivetrain components, and their maintenance requirements depend on the exact configuration.
That’s another reason we avoid broad statements like:
“It’s an Audi quattro, so replace all the drivetrain fluids.”
Instead:
we check the exact year and model and see what applies to that vehicle.
Why Does Transmission-Service History Matter More as Mileage Increases?
The longer a Q5 stays on the road, the more opportunities there are for gaps in its maintenance history.
A vehicle may:
change owners,
change repair shops,
